The Titanium Springboks is a team from South Africa. We have three team members, Shana, Ian and Bernard. We were members of a 2011 FLL team and decided to regroup for the Google Lunar X PRIZE Moonbots Challenge. Our FLL team in 2011 came third in the South African National FLL competition and we were invited to compete in the 2012 Open International Championship held in Florida, USA. Our Team, Superheroes, won First Place Project Presentation Award. All three of us also competed in the 2011 National Robotics Olympiad (NRO). Ian won the Junior High Category and was invited to participate in the WRO World competition in Abu Dhabi. We are very excited about the Moonbots Challenge and look forward to work together as a team again. We are very passionate about returning to the Moon and we have a keen interest in the pioneers that went there first. Our team captain was a kid of 10 years old when the actual Apollo events took place and we love to listen to the stories and great advancements of the time.
