Team Model Scouts started in August 2011 as a FIRST LEGO League team based in Plano, Texas. All of the team members enjoy and participate in robotics, scouting, LEGO, and science.  In their first year of competing as a team, Model Scouts won a robot design award, two robot game awards, and a Judges’ award at the North Texas Regional FLL tournaments. Since then, the team’s members have been entering other robotics and science competitions. The team also gives robot demonstrations at schools, scouting events, and other science and engineering oriented events.  

The Model Scouts team for Moonbots 2012 is comprised of Matthew (5th grade), Anthony (5th grade), and Katherine (9th grade). Matthew is a Boy Scout Tenderfoot in Troop 219, Anthony is a Webelos II in Pack 254, and Katherine is a Senior in Girl Scout Troop 498.
